The Linux Camp News is the reporting arm of The Linux Camp, a hands-on Linux training platform where members practice on real virtual machines. We cover the Linux kernel, distributions, networking, security, performance, and AI infrastructure, and our coverage leads with the facts that matter operationally: versions, numbers, regressions, and what to check on your own systems.
Articles carry the byline of Zayden R., founder of The Linux Camp, who selects, reviews, and edits the coverage and also builds the hands-on labs the site teaches with. Questions for the editor reach a person, not a bot: [email protected].
We are transparent about our process. Our newsroom runs a monitoring pipeline that watches the sources engineers actually read, including outlet feeds such as Phoronix and LWN, distribution project blogs, Hacker News, and engineering communities. Stories are selected for operational relevance, then drafted with AI assistance grounded in the full text of the source coverage, and reviewed before publication. We do not publish machine output without oversight, and we do not publish stories we cannot source.
Every article lists its sources. When a story has been covered by several independent outlets, we synthesize them and list each one. When only a single source exists yet, the article says so by listing exactly that source. We link upstream announcements, changelogs, and advisories wherever they exist.
